Me and my pardner, Anne. She was the best to work with, so easy! She is strong in the areas where I am not, so we make a good pair. Added bonus, she's hilarious!
The invite. These are very formal. You have to practice good etiquette or you are asked to leave the club.
So, the menu:
Butternut Squash Quesadillas with Feta, and Cilantro Lime Dip
Melon Apple Chutney with Ham on Cornbread Rounds

Roasted tomato and roasted yellow pepper soup

(no picture, but possible my favorite recipe of the whole night!)
Blood Orange Sorbet
Beef Tenderloin, Roasted Potatoes with Garlic Mustard Herb Vinaigrette and Green Bean Stacks

The gourmet ladies. Such fun women, I just love them!
The end of the night. These dinners are such hard work! We planned for months, and we practiced for weeks, and cooked for two days prior to the big night. As we complain and stress about how much we have to do, our husbands wonder why we do it and threaten to start a "golf club." This time around I figured it out. For me, it's the challenge. A chance to sharpen my cooking skills and use my brain, which otherwise get little use. A reason to spend time with friends and laugh. When it's all over and I breathe a sigh of relief that I can put my house back to order, I feel so great about all that I did and learned. And of course there is the great food!

LOVE it! I have no doubt it was amazing and one of the best! You and Anne are both incredible! I would love the recipes if you wouldn't mind emailing them to me! I have to say it made me a little sad to read this post....missin Texas.
This makes me want to do a gourmet club!
seriously! i want to join.
i love EVERYTHING, the invite, the painted pumpkins, those funky white candles, the polka-dot plates, and the menu... i DO want some recipes. the quesadillas, the lime dip, the frappe and also how you glazed your pears. PLEASE!
you guys are out-of-control. seriously awesome.
how nice to do something out of the mundane.
i am planning my trip around one of those get-togethers. if i bring everyone really nice favors - can i come?
Looks like the fun is worth all the work! And to go to all the ones you don't plan is probably awesome too! If I weren't crazy already, I'd think about starting one up! Maybe, someday, when I'm feeling more settled, I'll ask you for the details! You two did a fabulous job!!!
Cat, if you come see me I'll invite you to my dinner!
O.K. seriously..I cant even pronounce half of what you made. It looks sooooo good though. Your amazing Katie, and you should be proud. Can I come and live with you?
looks so good. I love food. wish I could cook like that.
My Aunt always told me you can be a good cook if you can read. It's totally true. If you tried as many recipes as we did you would find some good ones too!
Beef Tenderloin, Roasted Potatoes with Garlic Mustard Herb Vinaigrette and Green Bean Stacks?? YES, PLEASE! Geesh. Your Witches feast has cast a spell on me. It's 9:24 p.m. and I try so hard not to eat at night and now I have to go opening cupboards and shiz to try and find SOMEthing tasty, even though all I got is bread and nutella spread and apples.
That was amazing! Can't wait to see you guys in three days!
That looks like SO much FUN!! I wonder if the girls here would go for that?
