Basher funnies

Have you ever seen an ad for Cottonelle toilet paper? Well when I pulled out the package to get Ash a new roll this afternoon she said, "Mom, that's dog toilet paper."

Nate playing with my sister Mary

Yea! I posted my first video! I love documenting the first giggles, these aren't the actual first giggles but they are primitive!

when life slows down

If it ever does...I haven't forgotten your tag Camille. I have been thinking lots about my goals and haven't had time to sit at the computer.

Things I've learned in 2007:

1. Despite all the sad or hard stuff that happens, life is good.
2. I love my mom.
3. It's better to leave while you are still having fun.
4. My family is my most important work, and if I treat it that way my life is easier.

Goals for 2008:

1. Read the biography of John Adams, a favorite book of my Dad's I started and never finished.
2. Run a 5k. Pathetic I know, but they have to be realistic.
3. Look each of my children in the eyes, every day.
4. Take a photography class.
5. Organize my home videos and burn them onto dvd.
6. Learn how to post video on my blog.

I may have to add or edit later, but I didn't want to put it off anymore.

Baby Jesus?

Here is Nate starring in our Christmas Eve nativity play, plus a link to a video of Ashley leading 30-35 of our CO family members in Christmas Carols!

belly laughs

Pretty Princess

Ash just came running into the kitchen with a black crayon in her hand and asked, "Uh, Mom? How do you spell...glass slipper?" Now imagine it with a baby lisp and you'll laugh as hard as Justin and I did!

Winter is worth it

These pics are from a sledding trip with my sister Mary and her husband Joe. Now, I don't love freezing, but you have to love winter when you see a toddler all bundled up in snowpants, hat, gloves and boots. Adorable.
I had a hard time convincing the kids it was time to go home!
Ashley laid herself down to make a snow angel and then refused to get up for a picture and told me she was just going to take a nap.
While walking up the hill Mary spotted a hole in the ground and said "Look, a little hole. I wonder who lives in there, maybe a bunny!" Ashley said, "No, bunnies live in trees." Mary couldn't convince her otherwise.
When I took Camille down with me she said, "Hold me tight Mom!" But then she kept asking for more rides.

It's over?

Christmas went by so fast, way too fast. I'm sorry that it's over. We are still having fun with our presents though, so that helps. I'm still turning on the Christmas tree--I just can't let it go yet. One sister just left today, but I still have a sister and brother here, so hopefully we'll get a few more parties before it's back to the grind. Here are some of our Christmas highlights.Making big huge breakfasts with pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, and the most delicious blueberry sauce, thanks to Mary's in-laws.

Playing with our new presents. Camille got a two wheeled scooter, Emma and Camille made a "firesnake" out of play foam, and Ashley got a dog that walks and barks. (Lucky for me he won't need to be potty trained)

Hanging out with Dad a little more, he had some time off to be with us, and squeezed in his studying where he had to.

Staying warm and cozy in the robes and slippers Grandma gave the girls. We also had lots of hot chocolate!

Visiting Santa at Dad's work. Emma refused to sit on his lap, but Ashley cut in line.

Having lots of family time was great. We've watched Christmas movies, stayed up late, and spent every minute possible with our visiting Aunts and Uncles.
